That's simple. We exist to worship God, help people come into a relationship with Him, and to grow as His followers so that we are like Jesus Christ.
This is the most important question you can ask. It's so important that we set up a special page that tells you. (click here)
While we encourage families to worship together, knowing that younger children may not be used to sitting in a worship service or understand the lessons taught, we also offer childcare for all our services.
Parents are able to have their younger children (birth - 3 yrs old) cared for in our Nursery which is staffed by caring individuals. Older children (3 yrs old through 5th grade) take part in the beginning of the worship service (singing) and are then dismissed downstairs to Children's Church most Sundays. Parents are welcome to observe their children until they feel comfortable.
Your heart matters more than what you wear. But most people wear casual attire.
People from many different religious backgrounds call this home. Some had no belief while others had been brought up in a specific belief. We're glad for people to come and hope they are truly seeking to discover what God says about finding forgiveness and a relationship with God.
We have an active Youth group we call "Quest." They experience fun and games, but also have a meaningful time of learning to apply God's Word to their lives.
Village Bible Church would be considered a "family church," and enjoys all the advantages that come with being small. It's not hard to get to know people and for them to get to know you. When you're absent, you are missed. There are many ways people can serve and grow that those at larger churches miss out on. At smaller churches attendance isn't the goal, helping people grow spiritually is. Village Bible Church is a family, a home.
Village Bible Church is a mix of older and younger saints. While some prefer more contemporary songs, others prefer traditional hymns of the faith. Since we are called to "not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others" (Phil 2:4), we have chosen a blended style of worship service. We worship with both contemporary and traditional songs. Some Sundays our music is led with a piano and praise team. Other Sundays are led with our Praise Band.
Our pastor preaches using the New American Standard Bible because of how well is communicates the original languages in which the Word of God was written in.
Village Bible Church is a "non-denominational" Christian church. It was formed as the result of the efforts of people in Carol Stream from several Wheaton churches. Several years ago we changed our name from "The Village Church" to "Village Bible Church" to highlight the focus that we put on the Bible, God's Word.
